POW! Parade of Wonders

Calling all fans to the POW! Parade of Wonders, Canada’s biggest cosplay parade celebrating all things pop culture and creativity in the heart of Calgary.

Want to walk in the parade? Grab your favourite costume and take your spot! Not interested in dressing up? No problem! You can watch thousands of incredible cosplayers (and a few CALGARY EXPO special guests) along the (all new) parade route. The parade welcomes all to bask in the wonder, with designated accessible seating and viewing areas along the way.

The POW! Parade of Wonders is FREE. Join in for the official kick-off to CALGARY EXPO.

The new, expanded route will parade the country’s best fans (and a few CALGARY EXPO celebs!) from Central Memorial Park through Victoria Park and 17th Avenue, right to CALGARY EXPO at the BMO Centre on Stampede Park in The Culture + Entertainment District.

For spectators, it's the perfect opportunity to connect with neighbours and friends (and pups!) with coffee and lightsaber in hand, and be inspired by Calgary's cosplay community's creativity. Fan Zones along the way will give lots of chances for paraders and spectators to share their excitement together.

The parade concludes with the official Opening Ceremonies for the CALGARY EXPO in The Culture + Entertainment District: at the BMO Centre's Grand Staircase on Stampede Park.

The Calgary Expo brings to you some of the best names in sci-fi, horror, comics, anime, cartoons, gaming and animation so that you can experience, first hand, the energy and electricity of full-frontal nerdity. Apart from rubbing elbows with celebs, you will have the opportunity to sit in on many panels and workshops, dedicated to inform you about your area of interest. Calgary Expo features over 160 hours of programming including panels with Expo guests, workshops with industry professionals, costume contests and more. Special Events take place outside of the main convention and are separately ticketed events. In the past, Calgary Expo Special Events have included one-night-only cast reunions of iconic films or television series (Star Trek: The Next Generation in 2012 and Aliens, 2014), concerts (Weird Al Yankovic), and Meet & Greet cocktail parties with Media Guests (cast members from Torchwood, cast members from Game of Thrones).
