Welcome back to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Tour de Bowness!
This year will mark the 20th edition of the Tour de Bowness. On Saturday, watch the cyclists from many great viewing points along the road course just outside of Cochrane. On Sunday, watch the hill climb on MacKay Road in Montgomery during the day, this years event will have a small twist ensuring the fastest will go up against each other for the title. On Monday, visit beautiful Bowness to see the racers tackle the challenging 7 turn Criterium! Stick around on Monday to enjoy the Tour de Bowness Street Festival put on by the Bowness BRZ.
The Tour de Bowness Street Festival is BACK this year for its 11th Anniversary on Monday, August 7! Hosted by the Mainstreet Bowness Business Improvement Area (BIA), this exciting street festival has been a partnership event between the Bowness Community Association, Bow Cycle and the businesses within the BIA since 2011 when Bowness celebrated its 100th birthday. This event has been so well received by the community that it has become an annual “street party” to celebrate the vibrant and historical Bowness, “Bownesians” and visitors to this great community have come to enjoy! Since its inception, attendance has been steadily growing and we have no doubt this year will be a GREAT year!
They will have great food trucks lined up to bring you the best “festival food” Calgary has to offer! Local restaurants offer great patios and host specials to help you enjoy your festival day. Live music is always a great way to throw a party! Live, local bands are scheduled to entertain you all day on the Tim Hortons Stage. You will probably find yourself tapping your toes to the sounds of Doug Waite and his band, who will be entertaining you throughout the day in the crowd. Art is another way for a community to come together. Local artists are available to get you in that creative mood while activities for your kids keep your little ones engaged and excited.
