On July 1, gather downtown to celebrate Canada Day. This year’s free and family-friendly celebration features an Indigenous Spotlight and Powwow, live music and will end with a fireworks show above Stampede Park. Other attractions throughout the day include cultural activities, performances, face painting, a street fair and more.

Canada Day will end with a fireworks show at approximately 11:00 p.m. launched from Stampede Park.

The best viewing location is at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary).

You can also watch the fireworks from wherever you typically go to see Stampede fireworks. Onsite viewing at Stampede Park will not be available.

EV Street Fair is a signature event attracting more than 25,000 visitors, with over 50 vendors, food trucks, musicians, all ages activities, Pup Plaza and the 5th Street Square Beer Garden. It’s no wonder this is Calgary’s destination event on Canada Day.

This one of kind event is a chance for all types of businesses and vendors to get exposure with the general public, local East Village businesses, and community leaders. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy our great city while having fun and learning all the great ideas, products, and businesses that are in our backyard.

Street vendors, food trucks, live music and cultural dancing. Local businesses are showcasing many unique goods and the community garden area will host face painters and balloon twisters, right beside the community playground and dog park. East Village is the gateway to Calgary’s cultural hub and the many recreational activities located in the Calgary’s core.

Join in for a music-filled Canada Day celebration!

July 1 is the 9th anniversary of Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre. You're invited to a building-wide bash to celebrate this milestone! Explore Canada’s musical mosaic through new exhibitions, enjoy live performances, and participate in hands-on activities for the whole family.

Canada Day at Studio Bell will feature live performances by six-piece Afro-fusion band Melafrique, and R&B singer-songwriter Kate Stevens.

The day will also feature pop-up performances of rare and fascinating items from the NMC Collection, including demonstrations on the historic Kimball Theatre Organ and the famed Steinway “Rhapsody in Blue” piano.

There’s no better day than Canada Day to celebrate our country’s music icons, and music fans can check out new exhibitions dedicated to pop-punk legends Sum 41 and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame Class of 2025—Dan Hill, Ginette Reno, Glass Tiger, and Loreena McKennitt—plus the award-winning Speak Up! exhibition celebrating inspiring Indigenous artists.

After exploring Studio Bell, step into the historic King Eddy next door for even more live music and keep the celebration going into the evening. The Eddy will open at 11:00 a.m. with free, all-ages performances on the main floor and the rooftop patio, featuring folk duo Meadowsweet, singer-songwriter Dean Lauderdale, rock outfit Brother Bicker Band, CCMA-nominated country artist Jake Mathews, blues-rocker Ollee Owens, pop-country songstress Liz Christensen, and award-winning songwriter Troy Kokol.
